ADVANCED QUALITY ENGINEER

IMPACT AND OPPORTUNITY

 

As an Advanced Quality Engineer, you ensure product quality from development to production launch, playing a key role in preventing defects and meeting customer expectations. This position offers the opportunity to work cross functionally, influence early design decisions, and grow within a global automotive environment, using advanced quality tools and standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Active participation in the APQP, gate review and TFC meetings during the projects.
  • Active personal presence as a member of the APQP team during prototype and pre-series production.
  • Active participation in DFMEAs, PFMEAs and SFMEAs.
  • Active participation in feasibility studies.
  • Active participation in prototype installation at the customer and/or supplier days.
  • Assessment of possible defects based on real production data or statistical analyses.
  • Ensuring full communication with the customer in quality issues until serial production start.
  • Reviewing the measurement results and capability tests of prototypes and pre-series products together with the APQP team and initiating and following up corrective measures in case of deviations.
  • Preparation of prototype and pre-launch control plans, serial and safe launch plans in accordance with the deadline according to APQP.
  • Defining requalification requirements for products.
  • Active participation in the preparation of DV/PV test plans, reviewing their results together with the APQP team and initiating and following up corrective measures in case of deviations.
  • Active participation in establishing internal SC/CC characteristics.
  • Ensuring that each and every control step during APQP is defined for the given measurements and is carried out with suitable tools.
  • Handling complaints received in connection with prototypes and pre-serial parts and, if necessary, preparing 8D reports.
  • Ensuring that corrective measures resulting from internal problems or complaints are included in the guidelines for new developments.
  • Realization of Gentherm and customer quality requirements on the finished product in a way that raw material requirements are in line with the above in cooperation with SQE and data are recorded on raw material data sheets.
  • Active participation in project audits as an auditor, in the case of one's own project as an auditee.
  • Participation in customer audits / internal audits locally.
  • Preparation of unique, customer-specified documents for prototype deliveries.
  • Preparation of PPAP documentation for prototype, pre-series and serial products in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Creation IMDS data sheet and submission to the customer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or quality-related field.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of automotive standards and quality processes (e.g., APQP, PPAP).
  • Certified internal auditor for IATF 16949.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • German Language knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience in a Multinational Environment and/or Automotive Industry is a plus.
