ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead integration of new and existing pneumatic and thermal technologies into automotive interiors and adjacent markets (e.g., furniture, commercial vehicles) to deliver best-in-class user experiences.
- Support Advanced Engineering by developing systems and components that meet performance, comfort, and cost requirements.
- Drive profitable growth through cost-effective solutions, cost-down initiatives for existing products, and standardization across platforms.
- Evaluate market pricing and define cost and selling price strategies; establish initiatives to achieve margin and profitability targets.
- Determine optimal technical approaches for new projects and products, balancing innovation with cost efficiency.
- Provide strategic guidance to development and RFQ teams to ensure alignment with Product Line Management (PLM) strategy.
- Direct technicians in building demo seats, interior projects, and prototypes for automotive and adjacent applications.
- Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to achieve deliverables on time and within budget.
- Lead product and system expertise to influence strategic product decisions and portfolio direction.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical explanations to support customer engagement, investor presentations, and business development.
- Support marketing activities, including trade shows, promotional events, and technical content creation.
- Benchmark competitive products and identify opportunities for differentiation and cost optimization.
- Train technicians and engineers on pneumatic and thermal system functionality, integration, and best practices.
- Identify and develop opportunities in adjacent markets, ensuring scalability and leveraging core technologies for new applications.
- Champion standardization initiatives to reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and lower costs across product lines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical and electronic systems, pneumatic technologies, and system integration.
- Customer Focus: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Presentation & Training Skills: Strong ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
- Language Skills: Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
- Business Acumen: Solid understanding of profitable growth strategies, including cost analysis, target costing, and margin management.
- Cost Optimization Expertise: Experience with cost-down initiatives, production improvement, and standardization to ensure competitive and sustainable product line performance.
- Financial Awareness: Ability to interpret financial data and apply insights to product decisions and pricing strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled in working with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to achieve cost and quality targets.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Additional Education: A financial or business-related degree (e.g., MBA, Finance, or Business Administration) to strengthen understanding of profitability, cost analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Exposure to Target-Driven Environment: Experience working in organizations with defined cost, margin, and performance targets.
- Domain Expertise: Experience or deep understanding of seat comfort systems and adjacent markets (e.g., furniture, commercial vehicles).
- Process Improvement: Expertise in using process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to drive efficiency and cost reduction.
