Senior Accountant (m/w/d)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Support in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements of the four German group companies according to US GAAP
•    Support in the preparation of the annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
•    Support projects for process optimization in financial accounting and financial statement preparation as well as monitoring of current processes and identification of optimization needs 
•    Support of audits of the annual financial statements, external tax audits and internal audits
•    Participation in SOX compliance controls for the annual financial statements 
•    Participation in the implementation of group requirements according to US GAAP
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, tax, financial control, procurement, sales, program management
•    Prepare journal entries, reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or related field
•    5+ years accounting experience 
•    Profound knowledge with US GAAP or IFRS as well as with HGB
•    Very good knowledge of SAP and MS Office 
•    English, spoken and written
•    Interdisciplinary, process-oriented, analytical thinking
•    Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements which enables participation in a broad spectrum of accounting/financial reporting tasks/projects
•    Team player who can establish positive, productive working relationships with others
•    Possesses strong oral and written communication skills; can independently organize and conduct meetings and effectively convey ideas to others either in an individual or group setting.
•    Self-starter who brings energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude to every responsibility and project. Has a passion for new ideas and a sustained focus on continuous improvement.
•    Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
•    Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including strong Excel skills
