Manager, Domestic Tax
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
The Domestic Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role ensures accurate and timely tax filings, effective tax accounting under ASC 740, strong internal controls, and efficient tax processes across U.S. legal entities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee preparation and review of U.S. federal, state and local income and franchise tax returns and related filings and associated cash tax payments.
· Manage responses to IRS, state, and local tax audits and inquiries.
· Oversee preparation and review of domestic components of the quarterly and annual income tax provision.
· Manage sales and use tax compliance processes, including return preparation, reconciliations, and audit support.
· Oversee property tax compliance, including coordination of filings, assessments, appeals, and asset data maintenance.
· Ensure accurate application of state and local tax rules across jurisdictions.
· Maintain strong SOX controls over domestic tax and SALT processes.
· Ensure tax processes are well-documented, controlled, and audit-ready.
· Support internal and external audit requests related to tax.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· 5-8 years of relevant tax experience, with Big-4 experience or publicly traded multinational company
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar field;
· Strong technical expertise in US federal income tax compliance or ASC 740 reporting
· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
· Excellent troubleshooting, listening, communication and problem solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Manufacturing, industrial, automotive or supply chain-intensive industry experience
· Experience with tax provision and compliance software
