IT SENIOR SOLUTION ARCHITECT – FINANCE SYSTEMS
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
The Sr. Architect – Finance Systems will be responsible for implementation and support of financial systems as well as the conception and development of business processes within Finance and Controlling (FI/CO). The role will have a deep understanding of finance applications such as SAP FICO, OneStream, BlackLine, Xsuite or similar, and other finance-related platforms, and will be responsible for driving integration, optimization, and modernization efforts across the financial landscape.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting and leading key activities in Finance & Controlling in support of the Global ERP system (SAP)
- Work directly with business partners to gather requirements for enhancements and deliver solutions to business issues in the overall finance & controlling area
- Responsible for designing, configuring, documenting, delivering, supporting, and testing SAP FI/CO solutions (i.e. general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost & profit center accounting, internal orders, fixed assets, project systems, product costing and profitability analysis and month-end closing) to meet business requirements
- Design functional specifications and work with developers to oversee the timely completion and efficiency of development objects, conduct unit, and integration testing and maintain documentation
- Work closely with business stakeholders, finance teams, and IT departments to understand requirements, identify pain points, and deliver solutions that improve financial processes and reporting.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify opportunities to standardize processes and system configuration enterprise wide and ensure compliance across all implementations to these standards
- Ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with established standards, methodologies and best practices.
- Lead the architectural design and development of integrated financial systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for ongoing finance system operations, ensuring minimal disruptions to financial operations.
- Assist in designing the financial systems roadmap including migration to SAP S4
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, accounting, or a related field OR equivalent years of work experience.
- Proven Finance and Controlling solutions with technical and functional background
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis
- 10+ years of experience in SAP FI/CO customization and consulting with finance/controlling business partners
- 7+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-level finance applications, including SAP FICO, OneStream, BlackLine, and Xsuite or similar.
- Proven project definition, planning, and management experience
- Proven experience with finance system integrations and data migration strategies.
- Able to lead complex, cross-functional problem-solving initiatives
- Strong communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one additional language (German or Spanish)
- Able to create constructive relationships, influence, and communicate (to project team, IT management, and non-technical staff)
- Knowledge in SAP Archiving FI/CO objects
- ABAP development skills; not only debugging, but at least 2 years development
- Develop BADIs, user exits, enhancements in a global system
- Experience with cloud-based financial platforms (e.g., OneStream, SAP Cloud Platform).
- Experience with S4 / HANA
- Knowledge of financial functionality included in EHP1 – EHP8, which can be activated as business function
