VA/VE Project Manager

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

 

The VA/VE Project Manager collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and executives to support the identification, planning, and implementation of Value Analysis and Value Engineering projects for North America. The goal is to identify and eliminate unnecessary costs while maintaining quality and performance, and to optimize value during engineering product development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Elicit data and create plans for value analysis and value engineering projects.
  • Establish and execute timelines for value analysis and value engineering projects.
  • Work with all cross-functional departments and coordinate resources to implement value analysis and value engineering project proposals. Ensure that roadblocks are escalated early for support and resolution to avoid delays.
  • Promote and utilize VA/VE and APQP processes and procedures.
  • Track the efforts of the cross-functional teams at the manufacturing location along with commitments for operation-related activities.
  • Collect and document relevant information to support the savings that are to be recorded.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management in an engineering or business environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business, or Project Management.
  • Experience with VA/VE.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret finance and accounting documents, engineering drawings and specifications, and other business and technical documents.
  • Ability to create reports, general business correspondence, and process documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, peer groups, and managers.
  • Must be proficient with all MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and able to create, edit, update, and present from these applications.
  • Must be proficient in MS Project for creation and editing of project and program timelines.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual speaking English and Spanish
