Staff Accountant

IMPACT AND OPPORTUNITY

This role offers you the opportunity to make a direct impact on key finance initiatives and advance your career with a world class organization. As a Staff Accountant, you’ll work directly with all members of the organization and take ownership of the daily finance and accounting procedures. You’ll assist in day to day accounting and accuracy of the general ledger; month end close procedures and will have the opportunity to bring new ideas for workflow improvements to a fast paced and exciting team environment.

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, your focus will be to assist in the daily activities of the accounting department. Primary focus will be on the day to day general ledger activities and month-end close. Responsibilities will further include journal entries, account reconciliations and assisting management and staff with various requests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for general ledger posting and reconciliation
  • Assist with month end & quarter end close activities
  • Prepare Bank reconciliations for various accounts
  • Responsible for journal entry preparation and posting
  • Manage fixed Asset and CIP accounting & analysis
  • Assist with Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation & roll forward analysis
  • Assist with financial internal and external audit
  • Other tasks and duties are assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-5 years of related experience in accounting and finance
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including strong Excel skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Automotive related experience preferred
  • SAP ERP experience preferred.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in fast paced environment
  • Excellent self-motivation and ability to work with a team
