Advanced Development Validation Engineer




Advanced Development Validation Engineer with responsibility as a Systems test lead; developing and executing test plans for electronic sub-systems into prototype applications for our customers.  As a validation leader on our team, you will be part of revolutionizing the electric vehicle industry through range extension applications by performing bench/vehicle integration testing on new microclimate thermal device controllers and algorithms being designed by our advanced engineering product team. 



  • Develop system level integration testing plans, requirements verification and compliance, and supporting artifacts.
  • Trace requirements into specific system and software level test plans.
  • Develop test architecture in coordination with the hardware, software and mechanical design teams.
  • Plan/coordinate testing into sprints according to the Agile methodology to meet milestones
  • Populate and maintain system/software level test reports in DOORS QM.
  • Create and maintain test case traceability to requirements using Gentherm tools.
  • Communicate test reports to Gentherm product team.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports as needed for communication.
  • Execute system/software integration testing, bench testing, vehicle testing activities when required.
  • Leads system/software integration test for internal / customer projects.
  • Define system bench test setup with all equipment, wiring diagrams, pinouts, operating requirements.
  • Attend, support and participate in engineering development meetings, program launches with the customer and team.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customer and Gentherm internal
  • Other duties may be assigned.





  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 5 or more years of systems/software algorithm testing experience.
  • Experience with test case development based on requirements
  • Efficient use of sprint management tools such as DOORS, JAZZ and JIRA.
  • Familiar with automotive electronics hardware, software and systems validation tools.
  • Basic project management skills, including planning and organization, decision making, problem solving, and project management.
  • Ability to prepare and present complex written reports and other documents.
  • Experience designing with analog, digital, semiconductors, microprocessors, power supplies, electronics hardware design, and communication circuits is required. 
  • Working knowledge of automotive specifications and requirements for EE and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience in using LIN and/or CAN for automotive OEM





  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 7 or more years of working experience in an automotive engineering environment, high volume automotive production applications
  • Successful production launch of ASPICE project
  • Experience with functional safety products
  • Experience with model-based development (MBD) and analysis tools including Simulink.
  • Familiarity with embedded software design and C code
  • Knowledge of electronics assembly processes and equipment
  • Experience creating DFMEA, WCA, DFM
  • Demonstrated experience in hardware development from concept to series support



TRAVEL: Travel as necessary to perform position duties with international teams and customers. Travel may vary but can be up to ~10% travel for periods of 1 to 2 weeks based on project workload.
