Long Description

Research, design, and develop embedded software for electronic systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Formulate and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Develop and direct software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Consult with customer concerning maintenance of software system.
  • Programming of embedded processors and/or real-time programming.
  • Ensure that software artifacts are properly developed, tested, documented and reviewed, that decisions, risks, actions and progress are documented, reported to management and comply with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Maintain software quality through design documentation and code reviews, as well as rigorous unit and regression testing using corporate standard processes and tools.  

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering.

2-5 years of experience in automotive embedded software development.

Experience with automotive process standards (ASPICE, CMMI, ISO-26262).

Experience with requirements decomposition and tracability tools such as DOORS, PTC Integrity etc.

Experience with automotive standard tools and processes for Unit (automated), Integration, Regression Test, Coverage, Code Complexity (MCDC) etc.

Experience with Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.) and automotive communications protocols (CAN, LIN).
