Senior Tax Analyst

 

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

This position will contribute to the success of Gentherm by assisting the tax department with global, domestic and local taxes (both income and non-income taxes).  This position will also assist with transfer pricing. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of analyses and supporting schedules used to prepare quarterly and annual tax journal entries and related Balance Sheet reconciliations, to ensure that tax expense, deferred tax assets, deferred tax liabilities, and regulatory disclosures comply with U.S. GAAP requirements.
  • Support the leveraging of external tax advisors to complete US and Non-US tax returns, provisions, and special projects as needed.
  • Work with the finance and accounting teams and external auditors to achieve efficient and effective audit results.
  • Monthly/quarterly analytical review & reporting of transfer pricing information, as well as supporting the external tax advisors
  • Potential to assist with indirect taxes in the US as well as local foreign taxes

QUALIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three to five years of relevant tax experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, business or economics preferred)
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Proactive, clear communication skills with tax team and local finance teams
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tax experience at a Big-4 accounting firm or large multi-national company including exposure to foreign taxes
  • Master’s degree in taxation, CPA, or JD
  • Knowledge of SAP, tax research software, and advanced excel skills
