Senior Manager, AME Electronics

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

Development of new processes, technology and equipment from advanced development engineering concept through serial launch for Electronics business and product lines.  Global capacity and footprint planning to support growth in electronics business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead global engineering teams, responsibility for Industrialization Engineering (IE), Advanced Process Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering for Electronics product lines.
  • Lead and influence a team of engineers to deliver high quality repeatable processes and automated manufacturing systems to ensure the optimal engineered solution to meet the electronics business production goals.
  • Partner with the Electronics development team to identify and prioritize improvement in design, process, and equipment automation for next generation products.
  • Develop transformational process/technology/ automation roadmaps.
  • Partner with business leaders, operations and supply chain leaders, and manufacturing engineers to influence transformation in our electronics business through process and automation projects to grow the capability of our manufacturing organization.
  • Provide an expert level of understanding of integrated system engineering and execution to all levels of the organization.
  • Provide technical expertise for detailed queries about means of production with manufacturers, suppliers, and executive leadership.
  • Facilitate the capital procurement process to execute electronics projects.
  • Develop and ensure global capacity and footprint planning to meet growth targets.
  • Communicating at all levels within Gentherm, as well as externally, tapping technical resources, forming teams and consulting with programs and CBU leaders.

OTHER CORE FUNCTIONS

 

  • Build and develop multi-year strategic plan driving implementation and innovation to achieve the vision and strategy.
  • Lead and develop multi-year process, equipment and facility upgrades within electronics manufacturing facilities.
  • Grow engineering (process, equipment, automation, integration and assembly knowledge) capabilities within the COE and manufacturing.
  • Planning and implementation of production process, equipment and assembly technologies, including initial capacity planning.
  • Implement strategy for process optimizations based on LEAN principles. 
  • Implementation of large-scale process and equipment VAVE for Electronics
  • Lead the creation and adherence of global teams to industrialization strategy guidelines to support program and project launches.
  • Ensure availability of process and equipment specifications and release the documents in collaboration with Design, Purchasing, Quality and other departments.
  • Provide leadership and support for creations and processing of PFMEA with teams,
  • Support product launches with Industrial Engineering at Electronics Production Plants,
  • Develop and provide leadership to pilot operations and New Product Introduction (NPI) in Electronics plants.

QUALIFICATIOINS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 6+ years relevant experience in process engineering, NPI, and product launches
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Mechanical Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial, Engineering
  • 2+ years influencing global teams in execution of process and/or product development
  • Business fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Automotive manufacturing and life cycle
  • Works actively across boundaries in a matrix structure and creates shared ownership
  • A skilled problem solver: works to understand root cause and develops sustainable solutions
  • Multi-site global experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • International experience in the industrialization of innovation products
  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Electrical assembly experience in high volume production
  • Six Sigma Black belt / Lean Professional is preferred
