Manager, Software Quality (SWQ)

 

IMPACT AND OPPORTUNITY

 

As a Software Quality Manager, you will lead the mission is to ensure the delivery of a high-quality software and platform. Success in this role will be supported by your ability to collaborate and influence, as you build relationships with teammates in diverse roles across the R&D team. The ideal candidate is a quality assurance leadership expert with strong communication skills and previous experience as a detail oriented SWQ engineer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Establish software development procedures, methods, and training in a shift left automation and TDD environment.
  • Execute the QA strategies to meet and exceed department and corporate quality goals.
  • Identify key quality metrics and report on them regularly to keep stakeholders informed on the current quality of the product.
  • Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level.
  • Implement process changes to scale testing efforts across multiple product lines.
  • Work alongside software engineers, program managers, and QA to triage issues and help the engineering teams make informed go/no-go decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts for software quality and the organization based on lessons learned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering OR over 15 years of experience working with full software development life cycle in development, research, testing, or quality assurance capacity.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Software Quality.
  • 3+ years of Quality Assurance leadership experience.
  • Must have experience with developing quality procedures for Automotive SPICE maturity model.
  • Must have a passion for QA in an Agile and lean environment working with both embedded and cloud architectures.
  • Solid foundation and deep understanding of software development, software quality practices, and release management.
  • Strategic thinker with a clear view and track record of implementing and shaping an organization's QA program in a modern software delivery and architecture environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Agile development tools such as Jira, Github, etc.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Great understanding of architecture, performance, security, and cloud offerings.
  • Experience with establishing software quality procedures for products with functional safety and cybersecurity requirements.

NICE TO KNOW

 

TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required, <5%
