IT Manager, Manufacturing, Shop Floor & Quality Systems, ITBP Operations

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

Collaborates with business executives and stakeholders to understand technology needs and business strategy. Maintains technology to ensure systems are stable, operational and secure. Leads, coaches and directs technology and project teams. Leads new technology initiatives to ensure business needs are being achieved. defining and driving the overall direction, vision, deployment and management for the functional

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for defining and driving the overall direction, vision, deployment and management of global manufacturing & shop floor applications (build and buy/implement) at 9 global manufacturing sites. 
  • Responsible for the quality system strategy, design and deployment for the company.
  • Custodian of technical knowledge and expertise related to manage all manufacturing & shop floor applications.
  • Liaise with supply chain, manufacturing, quality and IT leaders to drive business outcomes supporting Gentherm’s digital transformation journey.
  • Develop and grow a global team of resources to deliver high-impact digital business solutions for shop floor at right cost with agreed SLA
  • Participate in acquisition/divestiture activities, partnering with Operations leaders, as needed
  • Support the day to day management, continuous improvement, testing, and roll out of IT tools and applications at various manufacturing sites.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture leader for to define go-forward manufacturing strategy.  Design manufacturing & shop floor application standards and reference architecture
  • Ensure interfacing with other functions/key roles within IT on any initiatives and projects
  • Works with technical management (infrastructure and IT Ops) to ensure know how is transferred to design underlying infrastructure that supports the ongoing manufacturing & shop floor IT app requirement

OTHER CORE FUCNTIONS:

 

  • Serves as primary IT counterpart and partner to Gentherm’s SVP of Global Operations  
  • Participate as a member of the SVP Global Operations staff for the company.
  • Advocate for the business (and for IT) in IT strategic and operational decision making.
  • Through on-going operating mechanisms, understand GBU strategy, pain points and grow the IT to business relationship.  Serve as IT’s first point of contact for conflict resolution. 
  • Provides technical expertise to support GBU strategy, including recommendation of tools and processes that enable growth
  • Creates transparency around IT function and spearheads expectation setting
  • Drives digital dexterity throughout the GBU/functional group.  
  • Coordinate “shadow IT” efforts within the GBU/function such that efforts align with IT standards and requirements.
  • Serve as lead for acquisition/divestiture activities aligned to GBU.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field and 8 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong communication Skills
  • Problem management (root cause analysis)
  • ITIL (Strategy, Design, Transition, Operation & continuous improvement)
  • Experience with manufacturing quality principles
  • Knowledgeable in end to end process within the scope of MES/ERP/ and other shop floor systems
  • Proven business partnership
  • Experience leading and delivering solutions through influence across vendors and internal teams in matrixed organizations
  • Demonstrated success leading global teams
  • Proven ability to dynamically allocate resources based on business needs
  • Ability to think and communicate in business terms and help calculate the value of the solutions they are seeking

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience leading Shop Floor MES implementations
  • Prior experience with Quality System implementations
  • Prior experience with SAP logistics/manufacturing implementations
  • Digital transformation experience
