Global Supply Chain Manager

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

Manage global activities for the supply chain, including logistics. Implement global supply chain initiatives, develop standard processes, and drive continuous improvement toward world-class performance. Optimize the total cost of ownership, resolve global supply chain issues, and align master schedules to fulfill customer demand. This position will coach and mentor supply chain managers and logistics warehouses in best practices to improve key performance indicators, such as production plan adherence, on-time delivery, freight, and inventory management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Support Strategy

  • Develop a harmonized and highly competitive supply chain built on end-to-end value stream orientation, lean principles, and the total cost of ownership.
  • Support the Sales, Inventory, and Operational Planning (SIOP) process to drive attainment of delivery, revenue, and inventory targets.
  • Monitor global supply planning and forecasting of demand to ensure that resource requirements are met.
  • Manage the supply of critical materials to all locations to ensure supply through accurate, real-time inventory management and continuous tracking.
  • Maintain accurate forecast models for inventory based on incoming receipts and shipments.
  • Manage the supply chain throughout the entire product life cycle to prevent obsolete inventory due to engineering changes and the end-of-production life cycle.
  • Coordinate physical inventory and cycle counting processes with global locations and the finance team as required.
  • Verify and apply IT solutions that support the integration of logistics processes and the transparency of logistics performance across multiple aggregation levels.
  • Incorporate total cost of ownership and logistical aspects into the Request for Quote process.
  • Support safe launch plans and product transfers.

OTHER CORE FUNCTIONS

 

Standardization

  • Develop and deploy standard supply chain business processes based on best practices.
  • Incorporate standard processes for logistics based on lean principles and practices.
  • Revise and optimize global process standards. Document and train logistics staff globally.

Continuous improvement

  • Optimize supply chain business processes, including Master Scheduling and Material Requirements Planning (MRP), to meet customer demand while reducing inventory and freight.
  • Accommodate variability, align logistics, and forecast demand planning and sourcing to ensure minimal financial impact and uninterrupted manufacturing operations workflow.
  • Develop and implement business process improvements utilizing enterprise software and MRP.
  • Coordinate and support training of our employees in all supply chain aspects and ensure the creation and maintenance of relevant training documents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in international supply chain, logistics, master scheduling, and production planning in the automotive industry.
  • Multi-site regional experience.
  • Comprehensive data analytics skills to develop trends and insights for making informed decisions considering the Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Profound knowledge of supply chain principles and practices, with experience utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Expertise in master scheduling, planning, inventory control, and global logistics.
  • Technical application experience with SAP preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the automotive supply chain and life cycle.
  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills and business acumen (written and verbal).

  • Proficiency in languages other than English is considered a plus.
