Global HCM & U.S. Payroll Manager

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

Opportunity to build and lead a data and process-driven culture! Lead Gentherm’s Human Capital Management (HCM) system and global HR process design.  Lead the U.S. Payroll function, ensuring that payroll process are efficient, on time, accurate and in compliance.  Consult with the HR Leadership team to drive program and process improvement and analytics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Serve as the global leader for Gentherm’s Human Resources Human Capital Management (HCM) system, currently SAP SuccessFactors. Work with HR leadership to define key performance metrics for the HR function – develop metrics and service level agreements for core programs and processes, and track delivery against program objectives.
  • Create a data culture, and drive analytics adoption across the HR function. Establish guidelines for collecting and analyzing employee data to make business decisions. Use analysis to forecast hiring, scheduling, or other workforce planning needs. Prepare reports or summaries and presents findings to senior management, for use in strategic decision making or planning.
  • Develop and manage a global data governance framework and data quality program, including creation and ongoing management of a team of data specialists. Work closely with and provide direction to regional system and data administrators across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Manage the day to day administration and data of HR Systems, including system configuration, mass data uploads, ad hoc reporting, and troubleshooting user issues.
  • Partner with HR functional leaders on the development and delivery of standard processes, including performance management, compensation planning, recruiting, and onboarding.
  • Oversee the daily management, processing and improvements for the company’s US payroll (multi-state and multi-schedule payroll) in accordance with the company’s pay schedule and filing of deductions, taxes, filings, recordkeeping, notifications. Establish processes to maintain accurate employee data and files on the company’s payroll and HRIS systems

OTHER CORE FUNCTIONS

 

  • Provide guidance and research into complex payroll matters, including calculations, deductions, insurance coverage, wage garnishments, tax filings, expatriate payroll, and child support
  • Manage vendor relationships with payroll providers, including reviewing providers, and establishing and maintaining service level agreements.
  • Stay up-to-date with ongoing federal and state payroll tax regulations to ensure ongoing compliance; manage escalated payroll tax issues and ensure adequate tax registration and correct tax rates are paid.
  • Oversee quarterly reconciliation and calendar year-end processing of payroll, including supplemental payrolls, W-2 and other tax forms, and other government-required documentation.
  • Lead global implementations of HR systems of record, support system integrations, change management plans, communications, and training. Liaise closely with additional departments (IT, Finance, Internal Audit, etc.) to ensure compliance and alignment to required laws, regulations and/or procedures. Conduct periodic audits to ensure data quality and data security
  • Collect, manage, deliver, and report outstanding technical issues or potential system enhancements. Creates test scenarios and performs process tests to ensure requirements are met according to the predetermined goals identified.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Eight years of progressively increasing experience working with HCM/HRIS systems;
  • Four years experience supporting or leading the successful delivery of multi-state payroll
  • Strong project management skills to effectively balance competing priorities during project lifecycles while adhering to specific deadlines 
  • Strong influential leadership skills. Strong writing and communication skills 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or Information Technology preferred
  • Experience with SAP Success Factors or other cloud-based systems preferred 
  • Experience leading organizations through system transformations
  • Experience building and managing organizational key performance indicators (KPIs) or scorecards
