Global Director Software Engineering




Gentherm is transforming the future of personalized passenger thermal comfort with the smart, individual climate zone solution named ClimateSense™, tailored to the autonomous, electrified and ridesharing ecosystem of the future. Software will be the key driver for the transformation of Gentherm as well as for an entire industry. You will be re-defining the state-of-the-art of software development for smart thermal and wellness vehicle systems.



  • Direct advanced software engineering, platform development as well as software applications teams globally.
  • Provide technical software vision for Gentherm to become the leader in vehicle thermal and wellness management.
  • Attract and hire top talent.
  • Build a state-of-the-art tool chain and process for model-based software from simulation to customer applications.
  • Initiate and lead the transition from embedded software to connected software solutions.
  • Collaborate with other engineering functions to deliver complex products with innovative value propositions.
  • Ensure high quality and on time of software for customer awarded programs.





  • Bachelor’s degree in computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years building and managing development teams that design and deliver embedded systems or IoT solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years people management experience and managing managers.
  • Solid software design and architecture experience
  • Excellent project execution skills including executing on committed schedules
  • Track record in building and delivering software driven products in a B2B environment
  • Strong communications skills with customers and senior leadership




  • Thermal Management experience
  • Experience with agile tools and methods
  • Experience with ASPICE process and development model
  • Experience in Internet and mobile platforms
