Global Director, AGILE Engineering

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

The Global Director of AGILE Engineering will play a key transformational role in how Product Development and Engineering is performed at Gentherm. You will lead a companywide conversion to the Atlassian project framework, driving a major modernization of Gentherm’s development practices and driving massive efficiency, cost structure improvement and velocity gains across Gentherm’s business units.  This position reports directly to the Gentherm CTO.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead the AGILE transformation of development engineering and technical project management practices across Gentherm core and business units.
  • Drive the cross-company conversion of Product Lifecycle (PLC) implementation to and AGILE based tool chain.  
  • Build overall conversion plans, select pilot programs, establish KPIs to measure weekly progress and overall success.
  • Work directly with development Engineers to smash roadblocks, find solutions for capability gaps and winning hearts and minds to build momentum for the conversion.
  • Manage daily progress across the company, build a long-term plan for continuous improvement, driving continuous efficiency improvement across the company.
  • Work in partnership with IT to bring the new platform on line with appropriate configuration and capabilities.  Partner with external consultants to build Gentherm appropriate AGILE and Atlassian training.
  • Collaborate with Gentherm Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure the new PLC integrates seamlessly to the supply chain and sales system.
  • Quarterly progress reporting to Gentherm’s executive committee.
QUALIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Mechanical engineering in product development teams.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading development engineering teams (5 years+ at Director level or above).
  • Advanced use and knowledge of CAD systems and AGILE development tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Deep expertise in the AGILE development process and history of leading successful conversions of development teams to AGILE.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering OR a combination of education and experience that equals 15 years or more experience.
  • Strong communication skills, presenting to Executive leadership.

TRAVEL: Up to 25% Global travel.
