Finance Director, Internal Audit

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

The Director, Internal Audit holds overall accountability for performing risk assessments; determining adequate audit coverage to monitor system of internal controls/risk mitigation; planning and execution of financial or operational audits for global locations and functions at Gentherm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Manage the execution of the Company’s risk management plan
  • Lead external team (Deloitte) for SOX activities. Specifically, work with Deloitte to:
    • Develop test plans and coordinate the performance of management testing of internal controls required by Sarbanes-Oxley
    • Prioritize the risks in terms of their potential impact on the goals, objectives, and financial viability of Company (e.g. achievement of one or more goals or objectives, higher or lower, immediate or long-term risk)
    • Develop annual audit plan
    • Identify and design anti-fraud criteria and controls
  • Develop an annual budget for the department and monitor budget results and explain any significant variances in accordance with the Company’s requirements
  • Relationship management between department and key stakeholders
  • Communicate results to Senior Management and Audit Committee
  • Maintain Internal Audit and SOX strategy for the department
  • Provide business partnership/project management where needed/appropriate
  • Integrate acquisitions into SOX on a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 8 (+) years of position related experience, with Big-4 experience or similar industry experience
  • Process improvement mindset/continuous improvement
  • Ownership attitude/Self-motivated
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Professional Certification Required (CPA/CIA)

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Master’s degree preferred
