Gentherm is transforming the future of personalized passenger thermal comfort with the smart, individual climate zone solution named ClimateSense™, tailored to the autonomous, electrified, and ridesharing ecosystem of the future.  Furthermore, Health and Wellness is also a key topic to be further defined via several swim lanes to personalize the thermal comfort.  Gentherm is seeking qualified candidates for an Engineer I in the Advanced Systems and Thermal Technology Organization based in Northville, MI.  This position will be responsible for organic/inorganic design, development, verification, and proliferation of thermal core effectors and technology within the Gentherm development products and systems.



  • Develop those core thermal effectors, through the Advanced Engineering Stage Gate Process, according to the 2022 Key Objective Roadmap (using agile tools).
  • Mentor under the technical specialist to develop a core thermal knowledge base.
  • Coordinate those respective engineering disciplines with other departments, i.e., prototype, lab, purchasing, software, systems engineering, etc.
  • Provide opportunities for innovation.
  • Identify R&D need, harmonize with strategic/product fit.
  • Define/refine test standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, evaluate/assess technology fit according to requirements.




  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related degree.
  • Strong understanding and application of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams



  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge and usage of AGILE principles and tools
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • Automotive thermal management and relevant vehicle integration experience.
