TRANSPORTATION & WAREHOUSE ANALYST

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

Support global activities for the Global Supply Chain Team with a focus on Logistics (including Warehousing) & Transportation. The position will support efficient and effective operation of the Logistics & Transportation Department by analyzing data, developing processes, and developing & executing action plans to develop a world class organization, optimize costs, and achieve world class performance. Develop cost-effective logistics, transportation, & warehousing solutions that meet and exceed the expectations of Gentherm and our customers. Prepare and analyze quotations for global, regional, & local transportation services (air, ocean, parcel, & road), support implementation of new contracts, support cost savings reporting and other key metrics for logistics, transportation, warehousing, etc. Support the development and implementation of automated reporting (e.g. Power BI) to track and improve key performance indicators (transit time, schedule adherence, inbound & outbound delivery performance, freight costs, warehousing metrics, etc.).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Strategy

Partner with the Sr. Manager – Logistics & Transportation to develop & manage land, ocean, air, and parcel supply chain network.

Lead data analytics for key Global Supply Chain KPIs (Transportation Savings, Transit Times, Forwarder Delivery Performance, Warehousing Efficiency, etc.).

Support the Global Supply Chain Team to develop a world class Supply Chain built on end-to-end value stream orientation, lean principles, and optimization of the total cost of ownership.

Partner with the Sr. Manager – Logistics & Transportation to lead regional and global parcel, road, ocean, and air freight tenders / quotations and contract implementations.

  • Support the Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning (SIOP) process to drive attainment of delivery, revenue, and inventory targets.
  • Monitor market trends in the transportation industry and develop strategies to capitalize on and/or mitigate market changes.
  • Monitor critical shipments to ensure supply through accurate, real-time shipment tracking (as required).
  • Develop and apply IT solutions, including Power BI, to support the integration of logistics processes and the transparency of logistics performance within Gentherm at all levels (plant, region, global) and throughout the extended supply chain.
  • Incorporate total cost of ownership and logistical aspects in the Request for Quote process for make or buy (purchased) products.
  • Support safe launch plans and product transfers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain - Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant Supply Chain, international logistics, transportation, & warehousing in the Automotive industry preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 supply chain related internships if a recent graduate
  • Multi-site regional experience, global preferred
  • Strong data analytical skills and business acumen
  • Strong Microsoft skills (Excel – pivot tables, vlookups, charts, graphs, etc. & PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain (transportation & warehousing) principles and practices utilize with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Business fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must be flexible with support during non-core working hours.
