PRODUCTION PLANNING LEADER, SIOP
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) Lead - Coordinate the analysis and develop the recommendations for the Sales forecast, inventory projections, End of Production Programs, Engineering Changes (as required), and Operations Capacity planning including direct labor staffing with a 6 months (minimum) outlook.
Responsible for daily / weekly / monthly follow up of the Sales Forecast, review critical capacity lines to alert about increase and decreases on sales by programs and product families in order to flex accordingly, to control the End Of Production (EOP) based on sales volume changes, budget planning, Sales Team input, and/or customer notification to avoid obsolete material and if applicableto lead the claim process, , to lead our weekly, monthly plant SIOP meetings and consolidate the information from the cross-functional team. Other critical responsibility include inventory control, inventory optimization, and backlog / customer past due reduction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Management
· Provides strategy direction to SIOP Process
· Help to control andachieve inventory objectives ($ & inventory turns).
· Supports Excess/Obsolescence mitigation & claims processing with background information and data analysis.
· Identification and root cause determination for existence of excess/obsolescence.
· Participate in continuous improvement activities and cost reduction programs for freight and premium freight
Preproduction and new programs
To be involved in new program launches to monitor capacity, SOP and EOP in close coordination with Program Management to meet customer and Gentherm expectations.
Sales Forecasting
Ensures necessary investigations are done with customers (Tier 1’s & OEMs), GTHM Sales Team, Program Managment Team & Customer Service to procure latest and most accurate data regarding; customer SOPs/EOPs, customer holidays/vacations, and customer run rates such that a highly accurate rolling sales forecast is produced each month.
Support to Master Scheduling
Close work to ensures the Master Scheduling Team teams update our production plan to be aligned with sales forecasting, to ensure accuracy and understanding of customer demand trends and ensures these are linked to the MRP build plan and operational 6-month SIOP. Ensures master schedulers complete monthly planning cycle and coordinate monthly SIOP reviews by value stream. The SIOP Lead prepares and publishes the minutes of monthly SIOP Meetings (Demand Planning Meetings, Reconciliation Meetings, Plant SIOP Meetings, etc.) and publishes an executive summary to leadership with the business status, decisions required / taken, and action planper value stream.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
· Bilingual - effective communication in English and Spanish.
· Experience in automotive industry desired
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising materials management
· Microsoft Office Suite proficient
· SAP or similar ERP system proficien
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Lean Manufacturing – Lean toolset familiar required, Lean Certified preferred
· APICS or equivalent professional certification desired
· Strong data analytical skills
