Test Technician

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

The Test Technician at the Gentherm Technical Center is a key role in the completion of validation plans. The selected individual will support the test team to setup tests, collect data and write reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Follow Specification and Procedure to Collect and Report Out Data

  •  Follow the direction of the Test Lab Process Team Lead and Test Engineer at assigned test sites.
  • Execute functionality tests on samples and record data with corresponding parameters.
  • Operate lab equipment and instruments, execute tests and record test data according to test procedure, work instruction and test specifications in order to produce reliable and precise data following the test request management process.
  • Provide on-time test status updates to test engineer and Team Lead.
  • Respond to the test results and provide opinions and interpretations to the Test Engineer and Team Lead when required.
  • Authority to upload electronics log or raw data to PDM.

 

Equipment Calibration, Maintenance and Repair

  • Fully responsible for equipment calibration, maintenance and repair follow the direction of the Test Lab Process Team Lead and Test Engineer.
  • Recommend, design and build new test equipment as required for performing tests.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.

 

 

General Jobs

  • Work with the team to ensure appropriate scheduling of electronics test.
  • Actively update tasks’ progress with other team members and promptly inform test lab leader of any issues or trouble.
  • Provide training to new employees including equipment, test lab work process and HSE training.
  • Lead and complete continuous improvement projects within work area to improve efficiency of test setups and apply to the entire lab.
  • Accomplish various responsibilities, duties, and projects as assigned by Team Lead.
  • Travel domestically as required (<10%).

QUALIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College graduate technologist/ technician
  • 3-5 years’ automotive electronics test experience
