Test Technician, Electronics




You will work on customer comfort products that are part of Gentherm’s Electronics technology that’s shaping the vehicles of the future. The Test Technician will provide technical knowledge through completion of test set-ups, execution, data collection and report completion.  The Test Technician position at the Gentherm Technical Center can not only support the completion of validation plans but to enhance and streamline day to day testing processes.  



Follow Specification and Procedure to Collect and Report Out Data


  • Follow the direction of the lead test engineer, test engineer and/or test lab leader.
  • Execute functional tests on samples and record data with corresponding parameters.
  • Operate lab equipment which includes thermal chambers, vibration shakers, tensile testers, and DAQ equipment to execute tests and record test data according to test procedure, work instruction and test specifications to produce reliable and precise data following the test request management process.
  • Setup and operate DUT, perform functional and durability testing according to test plan.
  • Bring testing and/or laboratory concerns to the attention of laboratory management.
  • Ensure proper paperwork, test data, and testing outputs are recorded and submitted to the test engineer.
  • Design and Fabrication of harness assemblies and electronic load boxes. Perform various tasks such as crimping, soldering, wire layout, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead and complete continuous improvement projects within work area to improve efficiency of test setups.
  • Conduct testing in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements adherence to internal lab procedures.
  • Travel domestically as required (<10%).
  • Recommend, design, and build new test equipment as required for performing tests.





  • Electronics Engineering background or more than 3 years’ automotive electronics test experience.
  • Experience with data acquisition, power supplies, oscilloscopes, monitoring equipment, and measurement tools.




  • Familiarity with automotive communication tools including Vector CANalyzer, LIN. neoVI
  • Knowledge and application of various OEM testing specifications and execution to DVP&R plans.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents /schematics.
  • Experience in testing and debugging automotive testing software
