Prototype Technician

 

 

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

 

Assists in the design, development and build within the product creation process. Interfaces with all engineering personnel to assist in the design, development of climate-controlled seats and components (Seat heaters, VTB, SWH).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•     Builds prototype seat assemblies, seat stands, and seat trim modifications

•     Fabrication of harness assemblies

•     Monitors and adheres to prototype procedures

•     Responsible for collecting and organizing all necessary build data to support prototype    

       inputs and outputs

•     Utilizes documentation such as assembly drawings, bill of material, product flow charts and work instructions to assemble product

•     Performs various tasks such as crimping and soldering

•     Responsible for positioning parts and subassemblies by use of templates •    

OTHER CORE FUNCTIONS:

 

Documents actions by completing work reports and quality forms

•     Meets all quality, quantity and manufacturing practices

•     Responsible for performing sewing duties

•     Reports or summarizes labor hours

•     Assists and maintains predetermined inventory levels of all prototype components

•     Conduct basic equipment cleaning and maintenance

•     Perform ultrasonic welding tasks, Lamination

•     Troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental components, parts, and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 1-3 years of position related experience
  • Ability to read and work from CAD Drawings and Engineering sketches
  • Understanding of callipers, rulers and other basic measuring equipment required
  • Prior experience with electrical wire crimping/ termination and soldering preferred
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred
