HSE & Facility Leader
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training to promote a safe and compliant workplace.
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and hazard analyses; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and drive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
- Manage waste, recycling, chemical handling, SDS/HDS, labeling, and environmental programs.
- Maintain and monitor EHS performance metrics, records, and compliance documentation.
- Oversee PPE requirements, emergency preparedness, response plans, and safety equipment.
- Supervise contractors and EHS-related service providers to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Support facility operations, including service provider management and purchase order oversight.
- Support compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and TISAX requirements and audits.
- Drive continuous improvement, risk-based thinking, and management of change across areas of responsibility.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen safety culture, environmental performance, and operational excellence.
- Lead emergency response activities and stop work when significant health, safety, or environmental risks are identified.
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical degree, certification, or equivalent experience in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 year of EHS or workplace safety experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience delivering or facilitating employee training.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Working knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigation, and EHS compliance.
- Strong technical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, leadership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with employees, leaders, and contractors.
- Schedule flexibility to support facility and emergency response needs.
- Ability to understand and consistently apply Gentherm policies, procedures, and safety standards.
