Quality Engineer (Incoming Inspection)

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
The Incoming Inspection Quality Engineer directly influences the quality of the final product, ensuring that only compliant materials enter production. Through shelf-life control, effective supplier complaints, and the generation of defect charges, they protect customers from defective leaks and ensure cost recovery for the organization. This position leads the plant's materials quality control strategy, strengthening relationships with suppliers and developing competencies in international automotive regulations (IATF 16949), risk analysis, and continuous improvement in the supply chain to meet specific customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Functions:
• Define and maintain raw material inspection and testing plans, in coordination with quality engineering and customer requirements.
• Issue, track, and document supplier complaints, ensuring appropriate response times and corrective action completion.
• Manage and control the shelf life of raw materials, assessing expired materials and ensuring their disposal according to procedures.
• Manage the generation of charges to suppliers for customer impacts, in coordination with purchasing and finance.
• Coordinate receiving inspection activities, release/rejection of materials, and support production and warehouse areas.
• Document and preserve inspection records that serve as evidence of compliance.
• Collaborate with suppliers to define acceptance/rejection criteria and strengthen supply quality.

Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that inspected raw materials meet QC/QC specifications, customer standards, and internal standards.
2. Ensure the traceability and disposal of rejected materials, including those with expired shelf life.
3. Implement and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, etc.) with suppliers.
4. Provide technical and cost control information to the quality, purchasing, and supplier management areas.

5. Comply with the requirements of the IATF 16949 automotive quality management system and environmental and safety standards (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001).
6. Support internal, customer, and certification audits, providing evidence of receiving inspections and complaints management.
7. Promote continuous improvement in the receiving inspection process and supplier relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Automotive standards: IATF 16949
• PCBA standards: IPC-A-610-IPC-600
• Shelf life of raw materials (solder paste, flux, chemicals, packaging)
• Quality analysis tools (8Ds, MSA, PPAP, APQP)
• Proficiency in SAP, Opcenter Quality, Excel.
