MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
Implement customer engineering changes. Functions as a link between design and manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development and implementation of tools and documentation for processes related to SMT, THT, Back end technologies.
- Provide continuous improvement projects and analyze processes and methods to improve productivity.
- Provide support to the different areas in the corrective actions that result from customer complaints and/or audits.
- Any additional tasks requested by the supervisor according to the company's needs.
- Identify and improve product quality, process capability, performance, and product reliability.
- Implement customer engineering changes.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for production and manufacturing instructions.
- Provide in the Manufacturing Instructions the customer's requirements and train operators on the product requirements.
- Assist operators and group leaders in manufacturing processes.
- Provide corrective actions for defective assemblies.
- Create new panel layouts that comply with process standards.
- Create DFMs for new products and carry out the review with design.
- Maintain and update the layout of the plant.
- Design and develop fixtures and poka yokes for the manufacturing process.
- Generate, implement, and update PFMAs, PFDs, and manufacturing documentation for PPAP and in-process modifications.
- Release of gerbers, drawings and specs in PDM.
- To provide the different areas with the necessary files for the construction of equipment and tools.
- Keep the tooling matrix updated by area.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with the specific requirements set by customers with Zero Defects in view.
- Process Approach: Manage with a process approach to achieve objectives. It involves understanding, defining, and managing processes with a focus on PDCA and Prevention.
- Risk Planning and Analysis: Use risk-based thinking with your team and functions. It involves the identification of risks, analysis of causes and consequences, assessment of the level of risk and treatment; documenting the above as evidence of its control. (Applicable for IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
- Life cycle perspective: Ensure the identification of the environmental aspect throughout its area, considering the inputs and outputs of the process.
- Participate in and comply with the requirements of the IATF 16949 quality management system and ISO 14001/ISO 45001 environmental management system corresponding to their position. Prepare evidence of your compliance and support audits
- Authority: Stop-cancel any process that does not comply with the requirements established by the organization and/or by the quality or environmental-safety management systems already mentioned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Core tools
- Minimum experience of 2 years in a similar position.
- Basic knowledge of: DFM, Machines and process capability studies.
- Teamwork.
- Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma.
- Minimum experience of 2 years in a similar position or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Molding or equivalent knowledge.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Extensive experience with PCBA technology processes including surface mounting, assembly, wave soldering, cleaning, and conformal coating.
- Knowledge in SMT Process, Welding Process.
- SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
- CQI 23 Knowledge (Molding)
