LEAD CATEGORY BUYER
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute global category strategies for assigned electromechanical categories in partnership with the Global Category Director and the lead buyers.
- Provide project key information to category leads, so they may quote the required BoM item(s) within their commodity category.
- Continuous review of BoM and tool costs given target updates during awarding process.
- Support regional benchmarking activities for assigned commodities to determine best in class suppliers
- Collaborate with engineering to confirm technical approval of supplier offers and required validation plans for alternative material approvals
- Support and execute cost reduction ideas
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least BSc degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline
- 5+ years of relevant purchasing experience in the Automotive industry
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Automotive Supply Chain and life cycle
- Extensive knowhow of purchasing methods and tools
- Strong negotiation skills and business acumen
- Ability to transfer technical matters into economic considerations
- Knowledge in cost calculation
- Strong communication skills and assertiveness
- High stress resilience
- Business fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)
